Teacher Training

International Language Institute and English Canada have over 25 years of experience in training people to teach English as a second language.  Since its first English teaching certificate course in 1985, the Teacher Training department has offered a variety of programs for teachers - including the CELTA - for people who want to teach ESL in both Canada and overseas.

The CELTA qualification is validated by Cambridge ESOL. Cambridge ESOL's internationally recognized Teaching Awards provide new teachers with a route into the English Language teaching profession, and experienced teachers first class career development opportunities.

We also provide professional development opportunities and Teacher Training Days for everyone involved with language teaching in the community and customized courses that can be tailor-made to fit the needs of your school or organization.

ILI / EC is recognized by TESL Canada and Languages Canada as a centre of teacher training excellence in English Language Training (ELT) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). In addition to being a member of EduNova, we are the regional exam centre for IELTS.
