The International Language Institute (ILI)

ILI was the first institute in Atlantic Canada to offer language training programs specifically for non English-speaking learners. During its continuous 28-year history, it has become one of Canada’s distinguished language training centres and has taught tens of thousands of students from every continent.

ILI was the first organization in North America to be approved as a teacher training centre by the University of Cambridge and over the past 23 years, it has trained over 1,600 language teachers (see CELTA Teacher Training).

In 2000, ILI became Atlantic Canada's regional IELTS test centre (see

English Canada World Organization

In 2003, the directors of ILI founded a companion organization, English Canada World Organization (English Canada), to deliver and expand these same language training services outside of Canada and moved ILI's teacher training division and English testing (IELTS) division to English Canada.
